The Minor Arcana — 56 Cards of Daily Life
If the Major Arcana sing of fate, the Minor Arcana describe the texture of an ordinary week. These fifty-six cards record what actually happens between the great turning points: the conversation that didn't go well, the small win at work, the friend who showed up, the stubborn argument we keep returning to. Reading the Minor Arcana is like listening to someone tell you about their day — and recognizing, in the details, the shape of something larger.
The Minor Arcana is organized like an ordinary playing-card deck, with four suits of fourteen cards each: Cups, Pentacles, Swords and Wands. Each suit corresponds to one of the four classical elements — Water, Earth, Air and Fire — and to one fundamental layer of human experience: emotion, body, mind and spirit. Each suit runs from Ace (the seed of its energy) through Ten (the fullness or burden of it), then continues with the four court cards: Page, Knight, Queen and King — figures who can represent people you know, parts of yourself, or styles of approaching life.
